Many Shades of Hosta Collection

Many Shades of Hosta Collection

America's Most Popular Perennial The hardy hosta has a well-earned reputation as one of the loveliest, most reliable plants for growing in the shade. Known for its broad, textured foliage that comes in countless color combinations, hostas are versatile, require little care and fit in just about anywhere—such as beneath a stand of trees and alongside buildings. While we love their lush leaves, the tall flower scapes of hostas provide added dimension and color!
Our Many Shades of Hosta Collection offers hosta lovers an exciting alternative to ordinary hosta hues—with bold color combinations and incredible shapes and textures.

This collection includes one root each of the following varieties:

  • First Blush Hosta: Starting out green in the spring, this incredible hosta begins to show a blush of red. As the season wanes, the rich green hue will return. The red blush will persist longer in Northern gardens. In summer, purple blooms enrich the scene. PP28920
  • Gold Standard Hosta: This multi-award winner has set the gold standard for excellence in a color-changing hosta! Large, ovate leaves emerge in spring with light green centers and dark green edges; by midsummer, the centers turn a glorious shade of gold. Very suitable for mass planting or use as a focal point. Pale lavender, 2"blooms that draw pollinators form on top of 30" scapes.
  • Abiqua Drinking Gourd Hosta: The blue-green leaves of Abiqua are large, thick and heavily cupped, forming 3" deep, rounded bowls that can hold water. An award winner for shade, it forms neat 18" mounds and sends up 22" scapes carrying lavender, bell-shaped blooms. Ideal for borders, containers and shade beds.
  • Breck's® Colossal Hosta
  • White Feather Hosta: This fascinating, full-shade hosta is truly magical! Curious white leaves are a welcome surprise as they emerge in spring. As it matures, the leaves transform into a blend of green and cream. Lavender flowers grace your garden in early summer. Performs best in full shade. Direct sun can burn the foliage.
